Redefining the Value of Information: Exploring the New Equation

What are the measures of information value? Credibility and quality remain core, but establishing the value for today's digital information products and services is no easy task. The melding of content and technology has created unprecedented capabilities for collaborative projects, dynamic interaction, information mobility, and the development of a truly global information society. User expectations have been transformed. And new measures for defining the value of information have been added to the equation.

How are innovative content providers, librarians and educators redefining the value of their products and services against the new factors that users weigh? Are social media being utilized? Do information resources fit seamlessly into the workflow and offer online collaborative tools? Do services blend both internal/external information and have multimedia capabilities? Is information accessible by and delivered to hand held devices around the globe? Are region-specific products and services offered? Is searching intuitive and easy with meaningful results? And are new business models and practices being developed to support the new value proposition?

The 52nd NFAIS Annual Conference will discuss these issues and more. It will take a look at diverse approaches to redefining the value of information and allow you to interact and learn from industry experts who are already grappling with this critical issue. No matter what role you play in the information community - content or technology provider, librarian, information professional, or educator - join us in February 2010 and learn how to raise the user perception of value for your information products and services.
