NFAIS Announces New Governance for 2009-2010
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, February 25, 2009 The National
Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS™), the
premier membership organization for all organizations that create,
aggregate, organize and facilitate access to authoritative
information, announced today its new governance for the coming
year. Terence Ford, Head, Research Databases, the Getty Research
Institute (The J. Paul Getty Trust), is the incoming President.
David Brown, President, Intellectual Property Business Unit,
Thomson Reuters, will continue to serve on the Board of Directors
in the capacity of Immediate Past-President. Newly-elected members
of the Board include:

• Suzanne BeDell, General Manager, Dialog, 2009 - 2010
NFAIS Executive Director, Bonnie Lawlor, announced that the association's membership has elected current Board member, Judith Russell, Dean of University Libraries, George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida, as President-Elect 2009 - 2010.
"The NFAIS Board is representative of the diverse Information Community. The directors are from major global information and technology providers across all market sectors - private, non-profit and government, and across all subject disciplines," commented Ms. Lawlor. "They embody the experienced and dedicated leadership that has been an NFAIS hallmark for the past fifty-one years, and have demonstrated a proven commitment to the organization and its membership. Indeed, under their leadership the organization has improved its finances and services, and membership has increased. Each individual Board Member - whether new to the Board or a continuing member - is focused on ensuring that NFAIS evolves to meet the needs, wants and expectations of its diverse and growing membership. I look forward to working with all of them in the year to come."
